    Position Overview

    The Driver - Long Haul is responsible for operating company vehicles to transport equipment, parts, and supplies between multiple SIMCO locations. This role ensures all transactions are accurately documented, equipment is safely transported and delivered, and company vehicles are properly maintained. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver equipment between multiple SIMCO locations
    • Review daily pickup and delivery schedules and establish efficient routes
    • Maintain vehicles by tracking maintenance records and service schedules (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.)
    • Regularly interact with Customer Service Representatives to exchange information
    • Professionally represent SIMCO Electronics at all times
    • Organize and separate equipment for shipment
    • Update computer systems with accurate status for will call, COD, and shipped equipment
    • Process documentation for accounting, purchasing, and customer service departments
    • Properly package equipment for shipment to customers or vendors to prevent damage
    • Reject damaged goods and coordinate with shippers regarding damages or shortages
    • Participate in assembling and shipping outgoing merchandise or materials
    • Receive parts, subcontracted equipment, and customer equipment per procedures and distribute appropriately
    • Initiate non-conformance documentation for damaged or incorrect materials or certifications
    • Maintain organized files and records of equipment transfers

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Clean and satisfactory driving record
    • One (1) or more years of experience as a driver
    • Working knowledge of local and regional routes, streets, and highways
    • Strong sense of direction and navigation skills

    Physical Demands

    • Must be capable of lifting up to 45 lbs without assistance
    • Occasional standing, bending, and repetitive computer work required.

    Working Environment

    Work primarily consists of driving and performing pickup and delivery activities. Travel is required, with regular transfers of equipment between multiple SIMCO facilities.
