Summary:

  • The Student Co-op offers aspiring healthcare professionals the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic clinical environment. Participants will work alongside experienced staff in various departments, enhancing their practical skills and understanding of patient care. This program is designed for students pursuing degrees in nursing, allied health, or other healthcare-related fields.Co-op participants will engage in a range of responsibilities, including assisting with patient care, observing clinical procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Through mentorship and training, students will develop critical competencies, reinforce their academic learning, and build a professional network within the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Answers telephones, takes and relays messages promptly and answers inquiries
  • Greets patients and visitors, gives directions and answers questions
  • Collects data and records properly
  • Performs literature reviews
  • Compiles records as requested
  • Monitors supply usage and reorders if necessary
  • Supports and contributes to patient satisfaction goals
  • Works in collaboration with all members of the healthcare team
  • Participates in Entity and Department wide initiatives for Patient /Employee safety
  • Demonstrates an awareness of patient/employee safety when carrying out daily responsibilities of their position
  • Validation of annual competencies required for the position

Credentials:

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience: •And Current enrollment in University Co-op Program
