Fine Arts Teachers at Regents School of Austin inspire students to grow in their love for Christ and His created order through the study and practice of the visual and performing arts. Through a distinctly Classical, Christian approach, teachers cultivate students’ ability to perceive and create beauty, develop artistic skill, and delight in truth, goodness, and beauty.
In this role, Fine Arts teachers instruct, disciple, and mentor students in alignment with the Objectives outlined in Article II, guiding them in artistic expression while fostering spiritual, intellectual, and relational growth. Fine Arts teachers also contribute to the broader school community through performances, exhibitions, and collaborative events that reflect the mission and excellence of Regents.

Use assessment and observation to refine instruction and support student development
Teach basic theater terminology, theater history, voice and movement, characterization, and technical theater for grades 7-8.
Direct school plays, manage rehearsals, and coordinate performances.
Oversee student casting, costumes, props, and stage design.
Collaborate with other faculty on interdisciplinary projects and school events.
Prepare students for performances, exhibitions, and presentations that reflect excellence and the mission of the school
Support and participate in Fine Arts events, programs, and school-wide activities

Ability to demonstrate physical acting techniques and stage movement

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Education, or related field required
Three to five years of teaching or relevant experience preferred
Demonstrated spiritual maturity and a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ
Understanding and appreciation of Classical, Christian pedagogy
Commitment to fulfilling the educational and theological objectives defined in Article II
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout classrooms, studios, rehearsal spaces, and performance areas for extended periods
Capacity to lift and move set pieces, props, and costumes (up to 40 lbs).
Ability to bend, reach, crouch, and perform tasks related to setting up classrooms, displays, or performance spaces
Ability to actively supervise and engage students in both classroom and performance settings
Ability to set up and take down equipment, materials, and displays for classes, rehearsals, and events
Ability to work in a variety of environments, including classrooms, studios, stages, and outdoor spaces as needed
Ability to participate in extended rehearsals, performances, or events that may occur outside of regular school hours
