Job Title: Drafter / DesignerJob Description

This role offers an opportunity for a versatile Drafter / Designer to support engineering projects for high‑tech manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, and facility environments. The position is ideal for a well‑rounded designer who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and developing a wide variety of drawing packages in a collaborative engineering environment. You will create and maintain engineering and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, work closely with engineers and project teams, and contribute to projects for complex industrial and commercial facilities. Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and maintain engineering and construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Develop plans, sections, details, 3D models, and complete construction document packages across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, structural, process, and architectural systems.
  • Develop and update layouts for equipment, mechanical systems, electrical systems, architectural elements, and structural components.
  • Use AutoCAD to update drawings, create models, and prepare construction documents for industrial and commercial building projects.
  • Work closely with engineers to develop design strategies, update designs, and draft redlines and markups accurately.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure drawings meet quality, accuracy, and schedule requirements.
  • Perform field verification and incorporate design changes and as‑built conditions into project documentation.
  • Maintain drawing standards and adhere to document control procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across all deliverables.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting high‑tech manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, and facility projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve issues.
  • Follow specific and detailed instructions from supervisors, working under close supervision with limited opportunity to exercise independent judgment while developing professional skills.
  • Participate in continuous learning opportunities, such as engineering seminars and training resources, to enhance technical and design capabilities.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience producing drawings for engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or facility projects.
  • Ability to develop and update layouts for mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, and process systems.
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards and construction documentation for industrial and commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, structural, process, and architectural systems.
  • Understanding of drafting or designing layout of systems in at least one discipline such as mechanical, electrical, architectural, or structural.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and apply redlines and markups to drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, engineers, and project teams.
  • Strong organization and problem‑solving skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and develop within a structured engineering environment.
  • Comfort working under close supervision and following specific and detailed instructions on required tasks and expected results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Interest in multi‑discipline design and drafting, including mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, and MEP design.
  • Experience with industrial and commercial building and commercial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with construction documents, construction drafting, and document control procedures.
  • Exposure to semiconductor or high‑tech manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience using CAD tools for redlines, design updates, and model development.
  • Desire for long‑term growth and a career in design within a collaborative engineering environment.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office‑based, working closely with engineers and project teams in a collaborative environment. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $38.00/hr.
