Donation Center Associate

For over 70 years, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for those experiencing homelessness and need in the Pittsburgh area. The organization currently seeks to fill the position of Donation Center Associate.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Donation Center Associate is responsible for accepting, sorting and organizing items in our warehouse and free store. Do you love meeting new people and caring for the needs of others? This role interacts with both the public and internal staff in a service-oriented way.

You Will Be Responsible For:

1. Receiving donations, sorting and organizing donations, and working with volunteers.
2. Assisting staff, clients, and volunteers to make sure that the Donation Center and Free Store is stocked, organized, and clean.
3. Record client and product information in a database.
4. Help individuals who come in to shop at the free store: greeting them, doing a needs assessment, praying with them, helping them shop and checkout.
5. Picking up and delivering goods throughout the Pittsburgh area in our vehicle.

Due to the interface with the clients, all jobs at Light of Life require employees to:

• Participate in the ministry of Light of Life Rescue Mission and walk alongside clients sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through actions and words.
• Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the staff handbook.
• Practice effective stewardship of all resources.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Competent user of computer and mobile computing device
• Knowledgeable with retail procedures not required but preferred.
• ServSafe Certified, or ability to obtain
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to pray for and love everyone who comes through our doors
• Driver's license with a clean driving record
