The Opportunity
We're looking for dependable, caring, and detail-oriented individuals to join our growing team as Dog Walkers and Pet Sitters. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, values responsibility, and takes pride in delivering reliable service that makes a meaningful difference for pets and their owners.
This role is more than spending time with animals. Success comes from building trust with clients, following care instructions carefully, communicating clearly, and consistently delivering a professional experience.
What You'll Do
- Provide safe, reliable dog walking and drop-in pet care visits for clients throughout the service area
- Follow detailed feeding, medication, exercise, and care instructions for each pet and household
- Build trust with clients through punctuality, professionalism, and consistent communication
- Complete accurate visit reports with updates, photos, and important observations after every appointment
- Manage visits independently while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and care
- Support pets' routines and comfort while owners are away
What Success Looks Like
In the first 6-12 months, successful team members will:
- Build strong relationships with repeat clients through dependable and attentive service
- Consistently complete visits on time and according to care instructions
- Maintain accurate and professional communication with clients and the Arroyo Pet team
- Demonstrate sound judgment and reliability while working independently
- Grow into additional hours and responsibilities based on performance and client demand
What We're Looking For
- 18 years of age or older
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and managing responsibilities without direct supervision
- Ability to pass a background check
- Previous veterinary, kennel, or professional animal care experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay: $16 per hour
- Additional mileage reimbursement and tips (typically an additional $5-$10 per hour depending on season and client volume)
- Holiday pay at time-and-a-half
