Job Title: Wideband Global Satellite (WGS) Ground Satellite Configuration & Control Element (GSCCE) Systems EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer for the GSCCE Modernization project, supporting system upgrades for upcoming WGS satellite launches and future development efforts. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this role involves the entire product development lifecycle, from idea creation to system maintenance and support.

Responsibilities

  • Drive daily execution of product development in a fast-paced, success-oriented modified-agile environment.
  • Design, integrate, and maintain complex systems and products, ensuring strong problem-solving and technical capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation aligned with DOORS requirements in an integrated MBSE model, emphasizing traceability and configuration control.
  • Produce clear system, interface, and change documentation across multiple customer teams, integrators, and systems.
  • Draft, review, and maintain system specifications, architecture designs, runbooks, and interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Ensure all system designs, testing, and operations comply with industry standards and modeling.
  • Perform System Design analysis of Ground Infrastructure HW Baseline(s).
  • Lead Analysis of Performance Requirements, and allocate performance to segments and subsystems.
  • Develop and perform simulation and modeling to assess GSCCE System Performance Attributes.
  • Establish a requirements baseline including analysis, derivation, allocation, and traceability of requirements and interfaces.
  • Identify, perform, and review design decisions, trade studies, and architecture improvements.
  • Decompose complex requirements into executable discrete user stories.
  • Develop and manage risk and opportunity baseline.
  • Establish and support system-level management and interfaces.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in system engineering including designing, integrating, and maintaining complex systems.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, technical, and communication abilities.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining documentation in alignment with DOORS requirements.
  • Ability to produce clear system, interface, and change documentation.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining system specifications and architecture designs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Process & Compliance experience ensuring system designs comply with industry standards.
  • Experience in performing System Design analysis of Ground Infrastructure HW Baseline(s).
  • US Citizenship required for obtaining a US Security Clearance, with an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start.

Work Environment

This position is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, where you will work in a collaborative mentoring environment with opportunities to learn from or lead others. The work setting involves a fast-paced, modified-agile environment with a focus on interdisciplinary engineering management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63.00 - $70.00/hr.
