Hours: 8 hours / day with a 30 minute lunch;
Monday-Friday, year round position. (May change at the discretion of the District).FTE:1.0 FTE (244 Day Calendar) Wages:$18-$20/hour Based upon experience.
Job Goal:
The Docker Care coordinator provides an early years program that gives students a safe and supportive environment that fosters the development of the whole child where all children can thrive. This position also orchestrates an after school care program that gives children the opportunity to explore a range of activies and experiences.
This position requires, but is not limited to the following:
- Ability to support instruction in all core subject areas utilizing effective strategies for differentiating instruction utilizing knowledge of curriculum based standards.
- Flexibility and willingness to work with students utilizing a multi-sensory approach to increase students' social, emotional, and academic successes.
- Experience and/or training in reading and mathematics learning strategies.
- Ability to use evidence-based classroom management strategies and techniques.
- Ability to use evidence-based individual behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Ability to meet students' social and emotional needs utilizing non violent crisis intervention techniques.
- Coordinate and provide transportation for students requiring a ride to their home during the day
- Ability to effectively use and integrate technology in the instructional support setting.
- Ability to prepare required documentation in a timely manner.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other adults within the school.
- Extensive mobility and willingness to perform job duties outdoors.
- Ensure compliance for all day care licensing requirements and annual audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have completed high school or its equivalent, as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
- Have at least 3-6 months of past experience in an early childhood setting.
- Have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education; OR a Bachelor's Degree with two courses for credit in Early Childhood Education (is preferred, but not required); OR a registry certificate indicating you are qualified as a child care teacher.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior successful experience in running and managing a childcare program.
- Prior successful leadership experience desired.
- Strong knowledge and experience with early years learning and development.
- High level of enthusiasm for facilitating and managing activity programs for children
- Experience working positively with elementary school students.
- Knowledge and understanding of Play Based Instruction.
- Experience in implementing effective learning and behavior interventions.
- Excellent communication skills.
