Anticipated Vacancy – October 1, 2026
This position is located at 558 Gillespie St., Fayetteville, NC and will be considered a Central HR employee.

The Human Resources Qualifications and Salary Administration group is looking for a highly motivated individual to perform as a subject matter expert and supervisor for the Division 6 Human Resources group. This group works at a fast pace to meet multiple deadlines at a high degree of accuracy.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisor and Human Resources professional in the areas of qualification review, salary administration, BEACON support, and HR consultation. The holder of this position is expected to perform their workload independently and professionally with a high degree of accuracy. Additional duties include comprehending and applying leave of absence and classification policies. This position works with Division 6 managers in interpreting and applying personnel and departmental policies and is responsible for supervising a group of technicians that support the Division. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing technical support, problem resolution, hiring package approval and participates in special HR projects.

The successful applicant will be expected to consult with managers and employees within the Division regarding qualification and salary administration policies and procedures.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade and Salary Range:  NC13 / $50,088 – $87,654

Management prefers applicants with the following:

  • Experience initiating, approving, and completing personnel actions in a database system such as FIORI (formerly known as BEACON)
  • Knowledge of personnel practices, policies, and procedures particularly in the areas of merit-based hiring and salary administration
  • Experience composing Human Resources information for disbursement to employees and management
  • Working knowledge of an applicant tracking system such as NEOGOV or Workday
  • Experience with the coordination/attendance of recruitment events such as hiring events and/or career fairs

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
