Job Summary and Qualifications

​​ The Director of Clinical Education Programs is responsible for the collaborative development, management, and delivery/execution of clinical education programs for HCA’s Clinical Education Service Line. The Director of Clinical Education Programs assumes accountability for the educational aspects of orientation, onboarding of clinical employees, competency management, clinical professional development, and the development of education, including inter-professional collaboration. The Director of Clinical Education Programs facilitates work across workgroups, interacting with various stakeholders to ensure all course material is developed and implemented using HCA’s Clinical Education Service Line education standards.​ 

What you will do in this role: 

  • Cultivates a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care.
  • ​Manages variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.   
  • ​Stays abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations, and actively pursues efforts to achieve.  
  • ​Develops and implements policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.  
  • ​Ensures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards. 
  • ​Collaborates with the Division VP, Clinical Education and Market Directors supporting their division to improve nursing practice of the organization through clinical education and competence management   
  • Leverages various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Develops and implements strategies to elevate the patient experience. 
  • ​Manages the delivery strategy and ongoing evaluation for clinical education content and programs.  
  • ​Establishes a vision for direct reports and leadership that inspires adherence to the vision/mission/values of the organization. 
  • ​Identifies development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams. Provides coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance.  

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Required
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or Education Required
  • Doctorate Degree in Nursing or Education Preferred
  • 5+ years experience in an acute care setting Required
  • 2+ years experience in clinical education, organizational development, or human resources Required
