The Business Unit Finance Director serves as the senior finance business partner to the division leadership team, providing strategic and operational financial leadership across commercial finance, operations finance, FP&A, controllership, compliance, and talent development.
Acts as the strategic and enterprise mindset finance leader for the business, driving profitable growth, capital allocation, operational performance, and long-term value creation. Partners with the leadership team to deliver Bussmann''s growth strategy, enabling expansion toward $900M+i n revenue and $421M in operating profit by 2030 through disciplined planning, investment prioritization, pricing excellence, productivity, and financial governance. Serves as a trusted advisor who translates business strategy into financial outcomes, balances short- and long-term priorities, and develops a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting global growth, operational excellence, and enterprise-wide decision making.
This role is responsible for establishing and leading a disciplined finance operating cadence, including daily and weekly business reviews, monthly close and forecast processes, quarterly Risk & Opportunity (R&O) and performance reviews, and annual profit planning and strategic planning activities.
The Finance Director will translate financial performance into actionable business insights and partner closely with Commercial, Product Management, Engineering, Pricing, SIOP, Operations, Supply Chain, Shared Services, and Corporate Finance teams to drive profitable growth, margin expansion, productivity improvements, working capital optimization, cash flow generation, and forecast accuracy.
This leader will provide strong commercial finance oversight, including review and challenge of orders, backlog, pricing strategies, customer and product profitability, major quotations, contract economics, and growth initiatives. In addition, the role will lead operations finance efforts focused on manufacturing performance, cost accounting, inventory management, productivity initiatives, capital investments, and operational efficiency.
The Finance Director is accountable for maintaining a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, statutory and tax regulations, balance sheet integrity, delegation of authority requirements, audit readiness, and financial reporting accuracy.
A key responsibility of the role is to build organizational capability through coaching, developing, and evaluating finance talent, strengthening succession plans, partnering with HR on talent strategy, and driving best practices, governance, and continuous improvement across the finance organization.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $165000 - $242000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
