The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) is seeking an outstanding leader to serve as Division Chief of Pulmonary Medicine. The Division Chief will be board certified in Pediatric Pulmonology Medicine. The Division Chief will have a strong academic and clinical background and be responsible for all scholarly clinical educational and administrative activities of the Division.

Responsibilities The Division Chief will be responsible for: • Scholarly clinical and educational activities • Overall supervision of the Divisions faculty members activities, including teaching, clinical care, research, and other Division and Department duties • Participation in either clinical or lab-based research • Providing overall oversight of Pediatric Pulmonology at Bristol-Myers-Squibb Childrens Hospital • Committing to the academic mission of Rutgers and RWJMS, which includes education across the spectrum of trainees, including medical students, residents, and fellows in the institution

Clinical Services The clinical services of the division of pediatric pulmonology are conducted at Bristol-Myers Squibb Childrens Hospital (BMSCH) of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick, NJ.

Department Overview The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. Outpatient services are provided at the Child Health Institute of New Jersey, which also houses our research faculty.

Research Opportunities The Department provides a collaborative setting for the study of basic mechanisms of disease and outcomes research that would provide new insights to the treatment of childhood diseases. The Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine is consistently ranked as one of the highly NIH-funded academic universities, and Rutgers is a member of the Association of American Universities, comprising the top research universities in North America.

Collaboration Opportunities Adjacent to the Childrens hospital is the PSE&G Childrens Specialized Hospital, which is one of the countrys largest inpatient acute rehabilitation hospitals for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey - the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey, as well as the Ronald MacDonald House. As the states premiere institution located in central Jersey, there are many opportunities to collaborate across campuses with all the health professional schools and biomedical science schools at the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
