Summary

Position Highlights:

The Division Administrator leads the overall direction, supervision, and strategic growth of Moffitt's academic oncology departments and programs in partnership with the respective physician leader(s). The Division Administrator is an MMG ambassador interacting and coordinating with all aspects of the institution including clinical, research and administrative departments. As an MMG Ambassador, the role acts as a leader, consultant and subject matter expert to key corporate level functions including financial planning, strategic planning, clinical operations integration, faculty affairs, communications, marketing, project management, process excellence, and human resources. Other related duties as assigned by applicable Leadership.

This highly visible leadership position supports the academic oncology departments and programs through four core areas of responsibility while acting as the business operations leader:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop, drive, and deploy strategic initiatives that have material impacts on the institution as initiated by the department and/or by the institution.
  • Program/Department Development: Develop, plan, and deploy strategies and tactics that drive clinical, research and academic growth of the academic oncology department.
  • Clinical Operations: Oversee clinical operations including evaluating & monitoring performance metrics while promoting optimal patient experience and scalable, financially sustainable operations.
  • Academic and Clinical Research Operations: Support Department Chair and faculty's academic activity and clinical research through oversight of academic and research administration as determined by the Chair/Program Leader.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Ability to research, analyze, conceptualize, and deploy long-term strategic plans. Including
  • demonstrated track record of analyzing, developing, and implementing new business lines and opportunities for growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management and supervisory skills required. Including demonstrated change management and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute solutions across departments to optimize efficient and effective care to our patients.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding physician practice including revenue cycle, financial modeling, hospital operations, risk simulations and data analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and process analysis skills (capacity, staffing, modeling, etc
  • Ability to lead teams of direct reports and/or with team members from other departmental functions in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and create effective business strategies.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications: specifically, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Identify & Develop: Lead and/or consult on the identification and development of institutional and department growth/optimization strategies.

Program/Department Development: Strategic Marketing, Public Relations, Philanthropy

  • Develops and implements approved marketing strategies and ensures strategies are congruent and consistent with the Department leadership's vision and the Center's overall Strategic Plan.

Clinical Operations

  • Leads and oversees efficient and coordinated operation of designated clinics and programs ensuring optimal management

Academia and Research

  • Ensures educational mission and patient care needs are in balance and that each has appropriate resources and staffing

Business Operations ~ Fiscal Management

  • Develops quarterly department forecast and capital budgets for responsible areas

Business Operations ~ HR: Recruitment/Retention

  • Responsible for cost effective staff recruitment and employee development for the assigned department/clinic.

Business Operations ~ Administrative Functions including Project Management, Process Excellence, Communications

  • Provides Project Management leadership and/or consultation on departmental and institutional projects/strategies. Provides leadership and/or consultation with departmental and/or
  • institutional Process Excellence efforts, utilizing LEAN strategies to
  • ensure the highest patient satisfaction, operating efficiency, and safe
  • environment.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree - Healthcare, MBA or related field of Education
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in healthcare delivery, clinic or physician practice setting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management or director level role overseeing a high-functioning team solving complex issues.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organization wide cross-functional teams solving complex issues.
  • Experience in all aspects of strategic planning, budgeting, financial acumen, practice management, HR, and departmental administration required.
  • Experience with formulating, revising, and implementing procedures and policies, establishing standards, and working in multiple data systems and applications.
  • Superb formal written, oral, presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Specialized completion of an accredited leadership, professional practice management, program manager, project management, LEAN, and/or Six Sigma program highly desired.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the academic model of practice preferred.
