A growing commercial openings solutions provider is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support commercial construction projects involving doors, frames, and architectural hardware. The company specializes in supplying and managing door and hardware systems for commercial buildings, ensuring projects meet code requirements, aesthetic expectations, and performance standards.
This organization partners with general contractors, architects, and building owners to deliver high-quality openings solutions across a variety of commercial construction environments.
The Project Manager will oversee commercial door, frame, and hardware (DFH) projects from kickoff through completion. This individual will be responsible for coordinating project activities, managing timelines and budgets, preparing technical documentation, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage commercial door, frame, and hardware projects from award through closeout
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to specification
Develop project schedules and delegate tasks to internal teams
Perform cost analysis and assist with project budgeting and forecasting
Prepare and review detailed DFH submittals and shop drawings using industry software (Comsense)
Manage revisions, change orders, and project documentation
Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, architects, and vendors
Identify potential risks and communicate mitigation strategies to management
Serve as the primary liaison between the company, customers, and project stakeholders
Address customer questions or concerns throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and contractual requirements
Collaborate with sales and internal teams to support project execution and product knowledge
Perform additional project-related duties as needed
Required
3+ years of experience in the Door, Frame & Hardware (DFH) industry
Experience managing commercial construction projects involving DFH systems
Experience preparing submittals and shop drawings
Proficiency with Comsense or similar DFH project management software
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Knowledge of building codes related to door and hardware applications, including:
Fire codes
Life safety codes
ADA requirements
Windstorm compliance
Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred
Bachelor’s or technical degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
DHI certifications
Familiarity with CAD software
Knowledge of door hardware systems including hollow metal, wood doors, STC, FSC, and LEED requirements
Microsoft Office Suite
Adobe
Comsense (or comparable DFH software)
Basic CAD familiarity
Blueprint and specification interpretation
Strong customer relationship skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational ability
Positive, team-oriented attitude
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
