Instruction & Engagement Coach

The Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of a Districtwide Instruction & Engagement Coach. The Instruction & Engagement Coach will provide leadership and support in achieving consistent student engagement in learning environments across the District. Will ensure that all students experience academic programs and learning environments that inspire belonging and are consistent with the Ephrata Area School District Instructional Model. The Instruction & Engagement Coach will collaborate cooperatively with various stakeholders to develop, promote, implement, and maintain successful programs and learning environments that contributes to student learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ? Included but not limited to:

• Work with students and staff in a team approach to ensure that impactful instructional strategies and student-centered learning environments are provided to all students.
• Ensure the pervasive use of effective instructional approaches and methods to actively engage students in learning.
• Ensure that all learning environments are emotionally safe, secure, and promote a high level of belonging and risk-taking.
• Using a variety of data sources, including student voice, to help staff members understand the student perspective on issues related to the learning environment and overall school experience.
• Work collaboratively with school teams to develop systems that promote choice and a sense of belonging for all students.
• Work with staff to foster classroom environments where student choice is embraced and applied to implementation of the Instructional Model.
• Promote adult learning through a coaching model that includes resource curation, co-planning, co-teaching, modeling, data analysis, and reflection for individuals and small groups.
• Facilitate small group, large group, in person, and online professional learning experiences.
• Work with teachers to provide training in assessment and instructional strategies necessary to ensure student academic success.
• Support teacher reflections on the work produced by students and its connection to the learning environment and instructional design.
• Facilitate support of lead teacher groups.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's Degree/Masters preferred

Certification: Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education preferred

Experience: Prior experience connecting with students from a wide level of success and experiences preferred

Language Skills: Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Ability to maintain written records, and effectively present information to colleagues, students, parents and administrators; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with tact and diplomacy

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts, math reasoning, and math logic

Reasoning Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and reasoning skills

Other Skills & Abilities: Exhibit sound judgment; Ability to develop appropriate effective working relationships with department colleagues, school staff, students, parents, and the administration; demonstrate effective organizational and time-management skills

Workplace Expectations:

• Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.
• Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.
• Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.
• Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.
• Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook

Other Requirements: Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.

Salary: In accordance with current EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
