Job Purpose

To be considered a candidate, you must currently reside in the territory of TX, OK, NM, CO.

Job Description

This is a road sales position for a given geographical area in the US. Substantial travel is mandatory, averaging 8-15 nights per month. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring all law enforcement sales opportunities within the region.
  • Demonstrating and showing S&W products to all LE agencies at the city, state, and federal level.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales duties and initiatives.
  • Providing training for new and existing customers.
  • Communicating information to the HQ to maximize sales potential.
  • Representing the company, transmitting corporate image, good business practices, and ethics.
  • Reporting LE market activity and recommending products, prices, and programs to maximize market penetration.
  • Communicating market trends.
  • Liaising with other LE regional managers to optimize customer relations.
  • Operating within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establish and maintain effective business contacts with the LE distribution network, dealers, and distributors, resellers. Coordinate shooting demonstrations and training for all LE customers within the territory.

  • Effectively manage a large geographic territory with at least 500 direct police agency contacts.
  • Prepare quotations, bids, proposals, and requests for information while operating within all state, local, and county laws and ordinances.
  • Liaise with the Operations and Legal teams to coordinate approval of all municipal sales and service contracts.
  • Manage reseller agreements, including recommending new hires and terminations to effectively manage sales within a multi-state territory.
  • Personally observe and assist in the selling function.
  • Create presentations and speak to large audiences up to 50 or more police officers, procurement agents, and publicly elected officials.
  • Teach, instruct Armorer and Law Enforcement Firearms Transitional Training classes.
  • Present new products and programs enthusiastically and effectively.
  • Perform rifle, pistol, and warranty repairs.
  • Attend and orchestrate sales meetings, planning meetings, product demonstrations, and large multi-agency live fire shooting presentations.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and communicate market data to HQ and current T&E agencies.
  • Demonstrate S&W pistols, rifles, suppressors, and revolvers to potential and new agencies.
  • Communicate regulation changes, changes in account corporate direction, and competitor activities.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints in conjunction with the Technical Services team.
  • Prepare and continuously reevaluate a regional sales plan.
  • Operate within all U.S. Government Fair Acquisition Regulations.
  • Regular attendance as defined in our policies is required.

Education and Experience

A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, and Marketing, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a sales, marketing, or customer service role with a branded consumer products leader, preferably in the law enforcement sporting goods product category, is required. Military and/or Law Enforcement experience is highly preferred but not required.

Training Requirements

  • Complete all required training by assigned department and position.

Physical Demands

  • Works in an office environment and/or driving a car.
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard and/or drive a car for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment

  • Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting.
  • Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations, and shop lighting.
  • Continuous exposure to hot temperatures may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
  • The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on the manufacturing floor.
  • The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, including safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
