We''re seeking a collaborative and experienced Distribution Supervisor - 2nd shift to lead operations across our Carlisle campus. This position provides supervision for hourly distribution personnel and coordinates team members and resources to ensure distribution activities are completed safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hourly associates: hiring, training, development, coaching, certification, performance evaluation / feedback and discipline.

  • Supervise daily operations required for the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

  • Measure and manage the Department's daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance.

  • Ensure Department maintains a vibrant safety program to include, pro-active safety initiatives, incident investigations, and facilitating an effective Department Safety Team.

  • Support inventory control functions such as, annual physical inventory, FIFO (First In - First Out) date compliance, customer returns.

  • Manage and support all daily expectations of planned, initiated, and ongoing COS programs.

  • Develop and implement strategies to control cost and improve performance on department KPM's.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Department of Transportation's hazardous materials regulations
  • Safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, ADA, etc.)
  • Safety Data Sheet requirements
  • Campus policies and procedures including payroll and handbook
  • Raw materials and their equivalents
  • Warehouse layout techniques
  • Finished goods product line
  • Employee counseling/coaching methods
  • Fork truck operation

Skills:

  • Team leadership
  • Reading and comprehension of safety data sheets, product labels, process specifications, and general instructions
  • Mathematical calculations including basic algebraic equations
  • Working on computers to use Microsoft Office, SAP, and the SFIS Shop Floor Information System
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Filling out shipping logs and SF tally sheets

Abilities:

Education & Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration strongly preferred

Experience Required

  • Two to three years working in a large distribution center or manufacturing environment in a leadership role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Crew Leaders, Truck Drivers and Material Handlers across a designated shift
  • Coach Material Handlers on use of SAPi/tablets.
  • Advise Material Handlers on where to stock product.
  • Advise and Instruct Material Handlers on product to consolidate
  • Advise Material Handlers on where to pick product.

Equipment/Data

  • Equipment Operated: Telephone, Calculator, Computer, Printer, Tablet and Barcode Scanner, Forklift, Scissor Lift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Dock Leveler, and Trailer Restraints.
  • Data Used: SAP, SAPi, SFIS, BI, Production Forecast, Inbound Forecast, Sales Forecast.
  • Interactions with Others: Distribution Department Personnel, Production Scheduler, Production Supervisors and Group Leaders, Customer Service, Product Managers, Sales, Research and Development, Shipping departments, Accounting, Inventory Control, Purchasing.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing / Warehouse setting
  • Fast pace congested material handling equipment traffic.
  • Potential for a drafty work area.
  • Fumes from forklift exhaust and handling of adhesives.
  • Chemical exposure.
  • Pinch hazard from moving mechanical parts on forklift, truck doors, etc.
  • Occasionally work in high places using a safety cage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting - while working at a desk and on a computer
  • Standing - while observing operations
  • Walking - walking to and from areas of the plant for observation of operations
  • Bending & Stooping - while observing operations and while potentially using the skid wrapping machine
  • Sight - seeing and recognizing safety hazards and warnings
  • Talking & Hearing - clearly communicating with team members, supervisors, and other members of the plant
  • Lifting - must be able to lift up to 50lbs
