Overview
Preferred candidates will have Cath Lab or OR experience. Role includes occasional weekend coverage and participation in disaster-response efforts as needed.
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for the picking and delivery of POU system orders. Maintains warehouse area and inventory: performs routine checks for outdated stock, restock, delivery of supplies, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the accurate picking, and delivery for all par locations.
- Coordinates with POU system specialist information regarding expired items, stock outs, and overstock.
- Performs required checks for expiring goods on a scheduled basis so that outdating stock is not distributed throughout the clinical areas.
- Identifies outdating stock in accordance with POU policies and procedures and reports same to Pyxis System Specialist or Supervisor.
- Assists with the additional picking and set-up for delivery of weekly orders.
- Fills warehouse requisitions according to the schedule established for departmental requests.
- Verbally advises supervisor of any stock outages that need immediate attention.
- Completes all paperwork relative to the distribution of supplies and equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stores all stock items in the assigned areas within general stores.
- Rotates stock so that newly received goods are issued last.
- Enter data into the hospital computer system accurately.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of the basic MMIS system as well as POU system.
- Responsible for understanding and executing POU system downtime procedures when necessary.
- Delivers all non-stock items received to the proper destination in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes rush deliveries or items that require specialized handling, such as refrigerated items.
- Maintains warehouse area, including aisles, shelves and floor areas in an organized, orderly condition.
- Responsible for carrying Supply Chain Customer Service companion phone as assigned and required to answer and respond quickly and accurately within the expectations of management.
- All other duties as assigned by department.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma Obtained: High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Experience Requirements: 0 - 1 Inventory Distribution, Warehouse or Logistics
- Preferences: OR/Cath Lab experience preferred. Previous hospital experience or warehouse experience preferred.
