Kforce has a client in West Palm Beach, FL, that is seeking a Distribution Design Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, provides project management and design services for distribution facilities as required. Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Acts as a single point of contact for projects in the areas service territory. Makes decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods.
Responsible for proactive and reactive communication pertaining to project scope until the customer is ultimately satisfied. Performing work order assessment and for completing the most complex of designs to meet internal/external customer needs and valid FPL requirements.
Coordinates planning, organization, and implementation of engineering projects with other operating or engineering units to facilitate assignment completion. Producing a resource estimate, i.e., man-hours, materials, work type necessary to execute the work.
Evaluating distribution system capability to serve new load while understanding and mitigating potential future impacts of the new load. Provide and maintain cost-effective design while considering the impact to the customer and valid customer requests.
Project management, design estimating, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting. Responsible for all aspects of engineering design and permitting.
Work with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project cost.
