Job Title: Distribution Attendant Radnor

Hours: M-F, 8:30am - 5pm

Summary: Ensures accurate receipts of all supplies delivered through Receiving area to include physical count, entry in materials computer system, and delivery of product and proof of delivery throughout entire process. Secures all supply deliveries to prevent loss and theft. Maintains organized filing system. Assists other departments with delivery requests and coordinates all freight traffic to end users. Works with Purchasing Department to ensure proper set-up and creation of purchase orders as they relate to delivery and order entry. Assists with other Materials Management initiatives as needed. Maintains hospital vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Answers phone, UPHS mobile phone, and emails during business hours in a timely manner.
  • Develops and maintains accurate receiving and delivery records as well as Return to Vendor documents.
  • Distributes work to staff to properly rotate stock items according to department policy in all storeroom locations.
  • Maintains continuity of services in emergency situations (i.e. may be required to continue staffing in disaster codes and other emergencies)
  • Makes contact with various customers (service users) to ensure the adequacy of service provided, responds, and resolves problems and complaints.
  • Establishes and maintains a professional rapport with all internal and external customers.
  • Monitors the service provided, recommends improvements, and refinements in system.
  • Ensures that all areas are maintained in a clean, clutter free and organized work environment as per department procedure/policy.
  • Ensures that all cardboard and packing material are disposed of properly.
  • Receives product and makes deliveries as needed in maintaining a smooth operation of the Receiving Department.
  • Resolves delivery disputes with end users, Purchasing Dept, vendors and accounts payable.
  • Participates in Material Management meetings.
  • Communicates problems to immediate manager.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 1+ Healthcare Materials Management experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required within six months of hire or transfer to position
