Campbell's Trucking, Inc., is looking for a dispatcher to join our growing team in Tacoma, WA.

While working in Operations with a team that plans and manages truck drivers in day-to- day operations, our Dispatcher acts as the first point of contact with our drivers.

This position has typical work hours 5a-1p Mon-Fri, with occasional overtime opportunities.

Daily functions:

  • Maintain dispatch system accuracy in real time status; ensure dispatch orders are updated properly in the system to include locations and scheduled delivery dates.
  • Makes appointments in eModal system for all terminal pickups/deliveries.
  • Communicate with drivers utilizing Trinium’s MC3 phone app
  • Monitor import and/or export container termination status updates from port websites, equipment providers and/or steamship lines tools/websites.
  • Communicate and update Operations Manager on daily progress, challenges, changes, terminal issues, equipment issues via email and by sending a daily recap report.
  • Reply to emails timely and professionally.
  • Answer phone calls timely and professionally.
  • Complete other duties assigned.
  • Experience in trucking industry dispatching and/or driver management preferred
  • Good understanding of FMCSR’s (Hours of Service)
  • Ability to learn and use software efficiently(experience with Trinium dispatch system a PLUS)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year PORT related experience.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Great listening skills.
  • Customer-focused team player.
  • Time management skills.
  • Computer knowledge of Outlook, Gmail and MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Well organized with high attention to detail and accuracy.
