JOB GOAL:

To support the efficient and effective operation of the Safety and Security Department by providing comprehensive clerical support, assisting with departmental financial processes and payroll activities, and supporting the Director in the coordination and execution of daily departmental operations to ensure high-quality service and organizational effectiveness.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve (12) Month (240 days) contract, Range 106 - $28,820 - $50,075 plus benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate''s degree or bachelor''s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

  • Operates computer consoles, video monitoring systems, radio communication equipment, and other security technologies within the Safety and Security Department to receive requests for assistance, assess the nature of incidents, and dispatch patrol security officers or other appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Answers and manages incoming calls utilizing a multi-line telephone system; responds to inquiries, routes calls to appropriate personnel or voicemail, and accurately records and forwards messages.
  • Receives and responds to notifications from monitoring companies regarding fire, security, and environmental alarm systems and promptly notifies the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of calls, incidents, and communication transmissions utilizing the computer aided dispatch system.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with patrol security officers and external emergency response agencies, including law enforcement and emergency communications personnel, regarding incidents occurring on district property.
  • Serves as a central communication resource by directing calls and inquiries to the appropriate department, division, or employee and redirecting non-Safety and Security matters to the appropriate Little Rock School District office.
  • Assists with departmental financial processes, including the preparation and entry of requisitions and other related fiscal responsibilities.
  • Coordinates the ordering, receipt, and inventory of departmental equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Assists with the creation and issuance of employee identification badges in accordance with district procedures.
  • Creates, edits, and maintains reports, correspondence, databases, and other departmental records to ensure accurate documentation and record retention.
  • Processes internal and external records requests in a timely and confidential manner, including scanning, faxing, mailing, and distributing requested documentation.
  • Promotes and maintains a professional, customer-focused, and positive office environment while providing high-quality service to employees, students, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with departmental staff to ensure efficient office operations and provides assistance as needed to support overall departmental effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
  • Must be available to work occasional overtime, as necessary, to support departmental operations and emergency response activities.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
