Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus

The Dishwasher completes all the required tasks for patient tray cart delivery/pick up and/or pot and pan cleaning as well as departmental sanitation. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine according to food safety standards
  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes
  • Collects soiled items from cafeteria/lounges/nursing units
  • Operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment 
  • Sweeps and mops all areas of the department
  • Collects and dispose of trash 
  • Transports food to other areas as needed
  • Transports carts to and from other units while respecting hospital property /
  • Utilizes equipment and chemicals safely
  • Monitors, corrects, and logs sanitation control 
  • Reports equipment malfunctions/concerns
  • Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
  • Maintains safe environment
  • Addresses patient population-specific needs
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
