The Discharge Assistant provides clerical support and appointment scheduling coordination in collaboration with the Department of Patient and Family Resources (DPFR) staff for patients discharging from the hospital setting. Effectively communicates with DPFR staff, nursing staff, physicians, clinic staff, and patients to obtain needed information for appointment scheduling.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Demonstrated computer experience; strong oral and written communication skills; excellence in public contact skills (respect for others, courteous, tactfulness); demonstrated ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and display initiative; dependability, ability to accept direction and interact with others as a team member essential; strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently; demonstrated understanding of medical terminology. Previous clerical experience preferred. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
