Design has the ability to empower ideas and connect people. At Baskervill, we take that seriously-and we have a lot of fun doing it.

We're a multidisciplinary design firm with a growing global footprint and more than a century of experience shaping some of the country's most influential spaces-from university campuses and civic hubs to luxury resorts and Fortune 500 workplaces. Our Education Studio is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Director to join our Education studio who's ready to get hands-on across a range of project types and scales.

In this studio, we fundamentally believe in the Ask, Listen, Create mantra, which we use every day to deliver successful projects. This role provides diversity and variety in your day-to-day, so our ideal candidate can work independently and flexibly on multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for detail and a collaborative spirit. Interested?

What you'll be doing:

No two days are exactly the same, but you can count on a few constants. Including:

  • Manage design and production work for the Term Contracts team
  • Work closely with Principals and Baskervill support staff to make sure Baskervill processes are followed
  • Mentor junior design staff to make sure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Serve as the client's primary point of contact for projects
  • Be involved in all aspects of the design process, including internal and external team meetings, from concept through construction administration
  • Coordinate with internal and external project team members, engineers, and consultants in a timely fashion, with professionalism and compassion
  • Oversee drawings in Revit

About you:

A great match for our team is someone who has:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Engineering
  • 12+ years of professional architecture, interior design or engineering experience, ideally with experience in Education project types
  • Professional licensure or working towards licensure
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Knowledge and aptitude in other design software platforms preferred, including but not limited to: SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Office 365
  • A desire to work collaboratively with team members in a constructive and engaged manner
  • Experience managing/mentoring junior staff
  • The willingness to travel, as there will be travel to regional campuses required

  • Short- and long-term disability coverage
  • Paid personal time, paid holidays, and a floating holiday
