This role defines the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and value realization approach for a connected safety intelligence ecosystem that enables proactive identification of patient safety risks, earlier intervention, and measurable improvements in clinical and operational outcomes. Operating at the intersection of patient safety, clinical operations, data science, AI, software engineering, and product management, this leader transforms fragmented safety workflows and signals into scalable digital platform capabilities. The role partners closely with clinical, operational, technical, and executive stakeholders to prioritize high-value use cases, guide product development, support adoption, and ensure solutions are reliable, usable, secure, and aligned to enterprise architecture. The ideal candidate brings strong product leadership, healthcare domain knowledge, and sufficient technical depth to engage with architects, engineers, data scientists, and AI teams. This leader is accountable for delivering reusable platform capabilities, measurable safety and workflow outcomes, and sustained adoption across the enterprise. Aligned with HCA's Digital Transformation & Innovation mission, this role is accountable for product strategy, roadmap execution, delivery, adoption, value realization, and continuous optimization of the Patient Safety Intelligence Platform. Major Responsibilities: Product Strategy and Roadmap Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap for the Patient Safety Intelligence Platform. Align platform investments to enterprise Patient Safety, Quality, Clinical AI, and Digital Transformation priorities. Lead product discovery efforts to identify opportunities for proactive risk detection, workflow automation, and intelligence-driven safety interventions. Accountable for product prioritization, scope, requirements, and roadmap sequencing in partnership with clinical, operational, technical, and executive governance stakeholders. Balance short-term operational needs with long-term platform scalability, sustainability, and business value. Establish and monitor product success metrics, value realization measures, and strategic outcomes. Platform & Technical Product Leadership Partner closely with AI Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, and Platform teams to define technical requirements and delivery approaches. Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions to evaluate tradeoffs and guide product decisions. Translate technical constraints, AI capabilities, data dependencies, and integration requirements into scalable platform capabilities. Ensure platform solutions support interoperability, security, reliability, scalability, and future extensibility. Guide development of reusable platform services, APIs, and shared capabilities that reduce technical debt and accelerate future innovation. Demonstrated ability to lead technical product discovery and delivery for enterprise software, including web applications, APIs, integrations, data products, cloud-native platforms, or AI/ML-enabled solutions. Coding experience is not required, but the candidate must be able to engage credibly in technical tradeoff discussions. Clinical Workflow, Safety & AI Use Case Development Translate clinical, operational, and safety challenges into digital solutions that improve patient outcomes and clinician effectiveness. Partner with Patient Safety, Quality, Nursing, Clinical Informatics, and Operations leaders to design workflows that support adoption and measurable outcomes. Identify, prioritize, and develop AI-enabled use cases that improve risk detection, decision support, workflow efficiency, and patient safety performance. Ensure patient safety, reliability, and clinical effectiveness remain foundational principles throughout product design and delivery. Agile Delivery & Backlog Ownership Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and business outcomes. Develop clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements. Lead release planning and backlog refinement activities with delivery teams. Work closely with engineering teams to evaluate effort, dependencies, risks, and delivery sequencing. Validate completed work against defined requirements and acceptance criteria. Support Agile ceremonies and ensure teams remain focused on delivering measurable outcomes. Adoption, Change Management & Value Realization Develop adoption strategies that drive successful deployment, utilization, and sustained business value. Measure platform adoption, workflow impact, operational performance, and patient safety outcomes. Leverage analytics, stakeholder feedback, and performance insights to continuously optimize platform capabilities. Establish value realization frameworks that demonstrate ROI, clinical impact, and achievement of strategic objectives. Stakeholder & Team Leadership Serve as the primary product leader and trusted advisor for platform-related decisions and communications. Build strong partnerships across Patient Safety, Quality, Nursing, Hospital Operations, Clinical Informatics, ITG, Engineering, Data Science, AI, and vendor partners. Facilitate alignment among diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities. Act as the voice of the customer and advocate for exceptional end-user experiences. Lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority to achieve enterprise objectives. Quality, Risk & Governance Establish governance processes for product prioritization, delivery, and continuous improvement. Define quality standards and ensure robust testing, validation, and release management practices. Monitor product performance and drive corrective actions when needed. Identify and mitigate product, operational, technical, and patient safety risks. Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems , or other related fields - Required Master's degree - Preferred 7+ years of experience in digital health transformation, with demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale initiatives that bridge clinical, technical, and operational teams - Required 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management or a related business role - Preferred Experience delivering enterprise software, analytics platforms, AI/ML products, clinical workflow tools, or digital health platforms - Required Experience in patient safety, quality, nursing operations, clinical surveillance, or risk management. - Preferred Demonstrated experience leading teams with multiple skillsets to fulfill a complex and aspirational business objective - Required Licenses, Certifications, & Training: Certified Scrum Product Owner or similar Agile certification - Preferred Work Location/Schedule: Nashville, TN area (near Centennial Park) Onsite: M-F, 8am - 5pm Travel Required: This job may require up to 25% travel.
