Job Summary:
- Oversees the daily operations of the surgery department.
- Responsible for planning and administering activities of a nursing unit or floor and is responsible for the recommendation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures in these areas.
- Responsible for keeping the CNO informed of both progress and potential problems.
- Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery.
- Maintains operational aspects of the patient care department/departments in collaboration with other service areas.
Qualifications:
- Graduate form an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN/MSN preferred.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or equivalency required. *If licensed in a compact state a Utah State license must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS) card or must obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) card or must obtain one within 90 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) card or must obtain one within 90 days of hire
- Two to five years experience as an RN in the Operating Room.
- Management experience required
- Must have leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication.
- Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served.
