What You Will Do:
Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for Surgical Services.
- Develop departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepare budgets and ensures compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and directs internal/external audits.
- Direct and evaluate all clinical activities, including care plan development, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, administration and directors to develop streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.
- Remove obstacles to achieving clinical quality, service excellence and financial effectiveness targets.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing for an accredited program OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of nursing experience with 2 years leadership experience required;
- 10 years nursing experience with 5 years leadership experience preferred.
- Active RN license in the state of Alabama.
