Core Responsibilities:

The Director of the Staff Education and Training Unit (SETU) provides the leadership for the unit that provides professional development programing to staff members and offices looking for skill development in key areas. The person in this position needs to have extensive experience in training program development, evaluation methods, learning management systems and online content development. SETU strives to provide quality programing that meets the strategic demands of the offices and divisions that make up DHHS.

Well qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:
  • Completing needs assessments or surveys to identify training needs and opportunities;
  • Planning, developing, delivering and evaluating training programs to meet Department outcomes;
  • The evaluation process to confirm return on investment in the use of resources;
  • Development of online modules and contain knowledge checks to meet compliance requirements of regulatory agencies;
  • Knowledge, and ability to use, learning management systems to deliver training content and track activity;
  • Working with adult learners and best practices on effectively training adult learners;
  • Coordinating programing with subject matter experts in developing effective curriculum to meet the needs of a diversified department;
  • And, experience supervising staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify, your background must include a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant degree program and six (6) years experience in developing and delivering high quality employee development programs - OR - an equivalent ten (10) year combination of education and/or experience.
