GENERAL SUMMARY
This position's responsibilities include the implementation of all department goals to meet the district mission for instructional support. The director is responsible for directing all district programs that traditionally were departmentalized and is responsible for the success of those programs at designated locations. Programs typically included within this area of responsibility include: special education programs at all levels mandated, extended school year services, federally funded supplementary programs, regular education and handicapped student suspensions/expulsions, Seriously Behaviorally Disabled Program, home-hospital, home schooling, health curriculum health services program, Also, is responsible for drafting/supporting and monitoring of 504 plans relating to students.

This position reports to the Executive Director for Special Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Master's degree in an administration. Five years experience in public education, including special education, related services, and relevant administrative positions. Must have valid certifications for building or program administration in the state of Washington.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Licenses/Special Requirements
Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor.
UNIT AFFILIATION
This is a non-union, Director Level 1 exempt position.
