This is a management position that will report directly to our Senior Director of Audiences and Engagement.
Why this role matters:
APNews.com is looking for a Director to serve as the second-in-command for audience execution across social platforms, video and digital presentation.
This is a senior newsroom leadership role focused on turning strategy into daily output while identifying new ways to grow both audience and revenue. You will oversee three critical areas: social platforms, video across platforms and on-site, and digital design and presentation.
You will also play a key role in developing creator partnerships and identifying monetization opportunities tied to audience growth, working closely with product and revenue teams.
You will work directly with the Senior Director of Audiences and Engagement to operationalize audience strategy, ensuring our journalism is not just published but seen, understood and valued across platforms.

Identify, recruit and work with creators to expand AP's reach and storytelling. Build a clear approach to how creators contribute to AP's journalism and audience growth across platforms.
Set clear expectations tied to audience KPIs such as reach, engagement, retention and contribution to revenue. Ensure teams understand what success looks like and adjust quickly when performance lags.

Work closely with editors, product, analytics and revenue teams to align coverage with audience opportunity and business goals.
