Director of Revenue Cycle Management

Our client, an established nonprofit healthcare organization providing integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, and specialty services to underserved populations throughout a multi-site clinic network, is seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead and continuously improve end-to-end patient revenue cycle operations. Strong leadership team, stable financial position, and mission-focused culture.

Marin County, CA. This position is on-site.

Job Description:
This role is responsible for driving revenue optimization, operational efficiency, compliance, and patient-friendly workflows across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep revenue cycle expertise, strong people-management skills, and a data-driven approach to performance improvement. 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and optimize all aspects of the revenue cycle, including registration, eligibility, coding, billing, claims management, payment posting, denials, and collections
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliant revenue cycle policies, procedures, and systems to maximize revenue and reduce errors
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations and front-office leadership to ensure effective front-end revenue cycle workflows and patient financial processes
  • Monitor revenue cycle performance through KPIs, dashboards, and trend analysis; communicate findings and corrective actions to leadership
  • Identify, prevent, and resolve denials, delayed payments, and underpayments through proactive process improvements
  • Oversee contract performance and reimbursement optimization with third-party payers
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and regulatory revenue cycle requirements
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing revenue cycle team through clear goals, training, and performance metrics
  • Implement systems, controls, and workflows to support productivity, accuracy, and compliance
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and service orientation within the revenue cycle function

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Health Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience leading revenue cycle operations in a complex, multi-site environment
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end patient revenue cycle functions
  • Proven experience managing, developing, and scaling revenue cycle teams
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using reporting and systems to improve performance
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills
