Job Summary:

Director of Primary Care

The Director of Primary Care ensures optimal operational and financial performance while maintaining high levels of patient and employee satisfaction. This position provides leadership and operational oversight to support efficient practice operations, quality patient care, staff engagement, and superior clinical outcomes across primary care practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry
  • Advances the Triple Aim and supports progression toward the Quintuple Aim
  • Collaborates with local and system leadership to improve patient care, operational performance, and financial outcomes
  • Improves systems and workflows to support providers, staff, and patient experience
  • Oversees primary care recruitment activities in coordination with provider recruitment
  • Directs operational improvements, performance standards, staffing models, and process improvement initiatives
  • Develops and manages departmental budgets and supports strategic growth initiatives
  • Leads employee relations, staffing, retention, training, and team development
  • Promotes a patient-centered environment focused on satisfaction, quality, and operational excellence
  • Ensures compliance with DNV regulations, organizational policies, and applicable certification standards
  • Partners with market and system leaders to implement standardized ambulatory operations, workflows, and best practices
  • Participates in process improvement and operational alignment initiatives across markets
  • Maintains required competencies and completes annual compliance requirements
  • Performs other duties consistent with the role

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Professional management certification preferred (ACMPE/FACHE)
  • Drivers License required
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical office management or hospital operations preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and effective decision-making
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations and multiple priorities

Experience

  • Experience in healthcare operations, medical practice management, or hospital leadership strongly preferred
