Director of Plant Operations | Kansas City, MO
Lead critical facility operations for a nationally recognized healthcare organization. We are seeking an experienced Director of Plant Operations to oversee facilities management, construction projects, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance across two hospital campuses in Kansas City, MO.
This 585+ bed healthcare system features a Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, Breast Care Center, and numerous specialty services, providing an exceptional environment for a facilities leader dedicated to operational excellence.
Compensation: Up to $148,952/year
Annual Incentive Bonus: Up to 17.5%
Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | No Weekends
What You'll Do:
Direct all plant operations, facilities management, and maintenance functions across two hospital campuses
Oversee building systems, utilities, grounds, and non-clinical equipment operations
Lead construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion
Manage contract providers responsible for clinical equipment maintenance and support services
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, life safety regulations, and environmental care requirements
Develop and maintain safety, security, and emergency preparedness programs
Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational goals and facility needs
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for plant operations personnel
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Security Management, Industrial Safety, Administration of Justice, or related field
Alternatively, an Associate degree in a related field with 10+ years of plant operations management and healthcare safety experience
Minimum 10 years of plant operations and construction experience
Minimum 7 years of leadership or administrative experience
Healthcare facility operations experience required
Experience leading regulatory compliance efforts, life safety programs, environmental care plans, and Joint Commission surveys
Strong knowledge of healthcare safety and security standards
Current driver's license required
Class "A" Operating Engineers License preferred
Union experience preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
