Job Summary
The Director of Pharmaceutical Clinical Services provides leadership and clinical expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating medication use processes to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care across hospital and ambulatory settings. Supports the Department of Pharmacy mission by aligning services with strategic goals and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based guidelines, leading education and performance improvement initiatives, supervising clinical pharmacists, mentoring pharmacy students and residents, and overseeing the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program. Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and operational management skills, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
Seven years of experience in a hospital pharmacy required. Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) preferred or equivalent experience.
Five years of management experience or pharmacy practice management residency required.
License/Registration/Certification:
Current Texas Pharmacy License.
Current Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or an equivalent certification required; individuals not currently certified must meet this requirement within 12 months from the date of hire or the date placed in the position, as applicable.
BLS and ACLS required.
Education and Training:
Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Certificates of completion of 15 hours approved continuing education per year.
