About the Role

This is not a traditional sales position.

We are looking for someone who thrives on building real relationships, connecting with business owners, and creating opportunities through trust and credibility. This role is highly relationship-driven and community-focused.

You will serve as the front door of HR-Rethought — representing our brand in the market, developing strategic partnerships, and helping drive company growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Spend the majority of your time networking, meeting business leaders, and building relationships in the community
  • Identify and connect with business owners, executives, and referral partners
  • Generate new opportunities for HR and Recruiting services
  • Set meetings for yourself and other members of the leadership team when appropriate
  • Close business opportunities independently and collaborate with the CEO on larger opportunities when needed
  • Build and maintain a strong network of referral partners including attorneys, CPAs, private equity groups, consultants, and business leaders
  • Stay informed on market trends and business challenges to identify where HR-Rethought can provide value
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and relationship management with prospects and partners

  • Consistently bringing qualified opportunities into the business
  • Building a strong and trusted professional network in Kansas City and surrounding markets
  • Converting relationships into long-term clients
  • Knowing when to lead opportunities independently and when to involve other team members
  • Driving measurable business growth — not just staying busy networking

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Comfortable engaging with business owners and executive leaders
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Consistent follow-through and strong communication skills
  • Ability to ask for business professionally and confidently without being overly transactional
  • High integrity and a long-term relationship mindset
  • Experience in business development, partnerships, staffing, HR services, recruiting, consulting, or B2B sales is preferred

What This Role Is Not

  • An inside sales position
  • A marketing or social media role
  • Simply attending networking events and handing out business cards
  • A structured, behind-the-desk corporate role

This is a growth-focused position built around relationships, visibility, and business development.
