We are seeking to add a critical role in our ecosystem of Director of Youth Programming. Responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management, and continuous improvement of Manchester Youth Development Centers youth programming, including afterschool and Camp CHOICE, this role oversees daily operations, supervises youth program staff, ensures a safe and engaging environment for youth, maintains consistent communication with families, and coordinates program logistics to support high-quality programming and positive youth outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of all school-age youth programming, including afterschool and Camp CHOICE.
- Supervise, coach, schedule, and support youth program staff to ensure appropriate staffing, accountability, and program quality.
- Develop staff schedules and coordinate daily coverage to maintain safe staff-to-youth ratios and uninterrupted programming.
- Foster a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes positive youth development and meaningful student participation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day communication with families regarding attendance, schedules, activities, behavioral concerns, and program updates.
- Coordinate daily program logistics, including space utilization, transportation, meals, supplies, field trips, and special events.
- Monitor program quality, participant engagement, attendance, and behavioral trends, implementing improvements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, safety standards, and grant or program requirements.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership and community partners to support program goals and organizational initiatives.
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation.
Education + Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Development, Recreation, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience leading youth programming, afterschool programs, camps, or similar community-based programs required.
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience required.
- Experience working with diverse youth populations and families preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire required. Ability to obtain and maintain all required Pennsylvania clearances required.
