A regional medical center in Overland Park, Kansas (Johnson County) is seeking a Director of Women's Services for its comprehensive Women's & Children's service line. The 340+ bed facility is Johnson County's only Level II Trauma Center and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, holds accreditation as a Stroke and Chest Pain Center, and operates a Maternal Fetal Health Center — the only one of its kind in the region — alongside an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU.

The role. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Women's Services carries 24-hour accountability for nursing leadership across the women's service line, which includes a high-volume labor and delivery program, antepartum care, and a Level III NICU. The director leads assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care across these units, ensuring consistent quality and operational effectiveness. This leader collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary departments to address the full spectrum of patient and family needs, including high-acuity maternal and neonatal cases. Resource management and fiscal stewardship are central responsibilities, as is maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

What we're looking for.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent management or director-level experience in Women's Services at a large, high-acuity hospital (experience must be within the last year)
  • Experience supporting a program of at least 3,500 births per year in a high-acuity setting
  • BSN required
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice, or an active compact license, in accordance with applicable law and regulation
  • BCLS certification required (must be obtained and maintained)
  • Specialty certification preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, and nursing leadership

Schedule. This is a full-time day-shift position.

Compensation. $48.04 - $72.05/hr plus Sign on: No Sign on currently Relocation Assistance: Case by case.
