Esplanade by the Islands, located in Naples, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Director of Wellness and Sports! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

The Director of Wellness & Sports is responsible for the strategic oversight, programming, and operational performance of the community's wellness, fitness, spa, racquet sports, aquatics, and recreational amenities.

This role is responsible for creating a high-quality lifestyle and wellness experience that drives resident engagement, amenity utilization, and overall member satisfaction while maintaining operational efficiency and service standards.

Pay Range: $110,000-125,000

Core Responsibilities

Wellness & Recreation Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of wellness, fitness, sports, and recreational amenities
  • Manage fitness centers, group exercise programming, racquet sports, aquatics, spa operations, and wellness initiatives
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and programming meet brand and operational standards
  • Develop seasonal programming and resident engagement initiatives

Programming & Member Experience

  • Create wellness-focused events, classes, clinics, and recreational programming
  • Develop member engagement strategies to increase participation and retention
  • Coordinate tournaments, leagues, instructional programming, and wellness campaigns
  • Maintain elevated service standards and resident satisfaction

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise wellness and sports staff
  • Oversee instructors, trainers, coordinators, and contracted providers
  • Establish service expectations and performance accountability
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, hospitality, and safety

Financial & Administrative Oversight

  • Assist in preparation and management of departmental budgets
  • Monitor labor costs, programming revenue, and operational expenses
  • Evaluate participation trends and operational KPIs
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and equipment maintenance programs

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, risk management protocols, and operational policies
  • Oversee emergency procedures and incident reporting
  • Maintain certifications, inspections, and operational documentation as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Recreation, Hospitality, Sports Management, Wellness, or related field
  • 5+ years of wellness, recreation, sports, or hospitality leadership experience
  • Experience managing racquet, aquatics, fitness, or wellness operations preferred
  • CPR/AED and applicable certifications preferred
  • Strong event programming and operational leadership experience
