The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) is building generational wealth in North Minneapolis by creating a culture

of achievement in North Minneapolis where all low-income children have the support they need to graduate from

high school and succeed in college, career, and life. Through deep partnership with families, schools, and

community organizations, NAZ is transforming outcomes for children and reimagining what is possible for an

entire community.

Position Summary

We believe transformational change requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and meaningful

community partnerships. Therefore NAZ is seeking a collaborative, committed, highly motivated, and

detail-oriented Director of Wealth Builds to lead NAZ's Wealth Builds Initiative which advances innovative

solutions that support long-term social and economic mobility through the expansion of financial capital,

education, and opportunity for North Minneapolis scholars and families.

This role supports and builds upon the NAZ education pipeline by working collaboratively with the NAZ Education

team, the Wealth Builds team, community organizations, and the Wealth Builds National Hub. The Director will

lead implementation efforts, oversee operational execution, coordinate strategic partnerships, and support

long-term sustainability of the initiative.

The ideal candidate is strategic, collaborative, and highly organized, with strong project management,

relationship-building, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Program Execution:

  • Drive the ongoing execution of the North Minneapolis Wealth Builds operating plan.
  • Participate in policy initiatives that increase access to financial capital and financial education for NAZ scholars.
  • Consult with the National Hub and NAZ leadership to discuss progress, challenges, and technical support needs.
  • Ensure alignment between Wealth Builds strategies, goals, and the broader NAZ strategic plan.
Program Management & Implementation:
  • Continue to lead the design and implementation of the Wealth Builds operating plan.
  • Develop implementation plans for Wealth Builds pillars and coordinate partnerships with vendors, facilitators, and organizations.
  • Oversee dissemination of CSAs and YoF opportunities to eligible NAZ families, scholars, and staff.
  • Develop financial education and literacy implementation plans focused on accessible and effective learning opportunities for scholars.
  • Establish and maintain systems for program management, impact tracking, financial management, and participant feedback.
  • Track outcomes and priority metrics related to implemented program pillars.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with the VP of Education to ensure Wealth Builds supports the academic and social-emotional outcomes of NAZ scholars.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the organization to support successful project execution, scholar and outcomes tracking, as well as, the achievement of organizational strategic goals.
  • Coordinate with Development and Communications to support sustainable resourcing, communication strategy, and community events.
  • Support engagement and communication efforts with recipients, families, community organizations, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen program effectiveness and long-term impact.
Supervision
  • Supervise and support the Wealth Builds Program Manager, providing coaching, performance management, professional development, and accountability to ensure successful execution of Wealth Builds goals and initiatives.
Requirements

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree from a competitive four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of four years of professional experience required, with experience in finance, investments, partnership management, or related fields preferred.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative, manage competing priorities, and work independently.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions
  • This is a hybrid role, and the individual will complete a portion of their work onsite at the NAZ Main Office or a partner site located in Minneapolis, MN.
  • Work includes frequent walking, lifting, sitting, and bending.
  • Regular operation of office equipment, including computers and office machines, is required.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required for special events and community engagement activities.
  • Limited travel may be required.
