    Job Description:

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Oversee the organizational operations of the Volunteer Services Department

    • Support and supervise the Volunteer Services staff: educates, trains, and collaborates with staff on all projects; oversees the staff implementation of projects, and collaborates with Frisco Liaison

    • Support the Volunteer Executive Committee: develop volunteer leadership

    • Support the Wish List Committee fundraising, coordinate with the Development team regarding donated items, and manage the yearly process of grant requests and awards

    • Determine volunteer recruitment initiatives and onboarding standards, and yearly volunteer training to meet Joint Commission requirements

    • Oversee the weekly Volunteer Newsletter

    • Prepare and monitor the department’s budget

    • Oversee the volunteer recognition programs

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • Experience in volunteer management required, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting

    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and sustain volunteer programs

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

    • Knowledge of hospital operations, patient services, and regulatory considerations related to volunteers preferred

    • Ability to recruit, train, schedule, and supervise a diverse volunteer workforce

    • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail

    • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality (HIPAA awareness preferred)

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and volunteer management systems or scheduling software

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative leadership teams

    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
