Qualifications:

  • Education:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and M.A. in school administration from an accredited university, Administrative Certification or ability to obtain within 1-2 years

  • Training and Experience:

Five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience or other related educational experience. Experience with virtual, online, or blended learning environments preferred

  • Demonstrated Technical Skills:

Planning and organizational skills, knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum, effective writing, and computer literacy skills. Leadership ability in working with students, parents, and staff.

  • Human Relations Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, staff, and other members of the community.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Development and implementation of the WAVE program (grades 6-12)
  • Systems for student onboarding, mentoring, progress monitoring, and intervention
  • Program communication, enrollment processes, and family engagement
  • Ensure high-quality, standards-aligned virtual and hybrid instruction
  • Monitor student progress, engagement, and course completion
  • Support and supervise program staff, including mentors and facilitators
  • Build strong partnerships with families and the broader school community
  • Oversee program operations, compliance, and reporting requirements
  • Use data to evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Positive attendance is an essential job function for this position
