MGP Ingredients is a leading supplier of premium distilled spirits and food ingredient solutions. Its Distilling Solutions segment provides bourbons, whiskeys, ryes, gins, and vodkas to craft and multinational brands. MGP's own Branded Spirts business is growing following the 2021 acquisition of Luxco, a top spirits producer, bottler, supplier, and importer as well as the 2023 acquisition of Penelope Bourbon, known for its wide range of uniquely blended expressions. Ingredient Solutions delivers nutritional, functional wheat- and pea-based ingredients aligned with consumer trends. The company operates in locations across the Midwestern U.S., and overseas in Northern Ireland and Mexico.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Treasury Director is responsible for safeguarding the company's financial position by managing liquidity, capital structure, and banking relationships to ensure adequate funding for operations and strategic growth. This role drives financial discipline and operational efficiency through rigorous cash flow forecasting, covenant compliance, internal controls, and the continuous improvement of treasury processes, reporting, and technology.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Capital Structure & Financing
- Manage credit facilities and execute debt issuances or refinancings to fund operations and growth.
- Identify and hedge financial exposures using derivatives and other instruments to reduce earnings volatility.
- Monitor covenant & company capital policy compliance
Banking & Counterparty Relationships
- Manage relationships with commercial and investment banks, negotiating fees and credit terms
Cash & Liquidity Management
- Work with FP&A to forecast daily, monthly, annual, and long-range cash flows and positions to ensure the company always has sufficient liquidity to meet obligations
- Serve as Finance Function “Owner” of cash conversion cycle process
Month End Close & Reporting
- Review period balance sheet & cash statements; prepare summaries for management and directors
- Prepare KPIs and lead processes to maximize OCM initiatives
Automation & Technology Implementation
- Lead treasury efforts to streamline, consolidate, and automate processes and reporting for greater efficiency, standardization, and accuracy
Audit & Internal Controls
- Lead treasury audit efforts in quarterly and annual reporting
- Support treasury SOX/internal control process & documentation
- Review contracts, vendor applications, and customer set-ups to validate terms are in-line with company policy
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- MBA mandatory from a well-regarded university
- CPA preferred; CTP, previous securities licensing a plus
- 10+ years of accounting & finance experience culminating more recently with treasury leadership role
- 2 or more years of capital markets experience (commercial / investment banking) preferred
- Excellent understanding of capital markets and banking function
- Strong understanding of GAAP & 3 statement models
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal - with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet and modeling skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Ability to improve processes via implementation of automation (AI &BI) tools
