Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced healthcare leader to serve as the Director of Trauma Program for a Level II Trauma Center. This operational leadership role is responsible for overseeing trauma services, trauma system coordination, performance improvement initiatives, registry operations, accreditation readiness, and trauma program development across the organization.

This is not a traditional Nursing Director role. The ideal candidate will be a trauma program subject matter expert with strong operational leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all operational functions of the Trauma Program
  • Coordinate trauma patient care across the continuum of care
  • Monitor trauma quality metrics, patient outcomes, and performance improvement activities
  • Develop and implement trauma audits, case reviews, and trend analysis processes
  • Oversee trauma registry management, reporting accuracy, and confidentiality compliance
  • Coordinate trauma verification and re-verification preparation processes
  • Collaborate with trauma surgeons, emergency department staff, nursing leadership, and regional trauma systems
  • Support trauma research initiatives, education programs, and evidence-based practice improvements
  • Drive operational efficiency, financial performance, and resource utilization initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor a team of approximately 8 FTEs

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of employment

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience required
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following:
    • Trauma Program Manager
    • Trauma Coordinator
    • Trauma Leadership roles in acute care settings

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Trauma systems and operations
    • Trauma registry management
    • Accreditation and verification processes
    • Trauma performance improvement initiatives
  • Strong operational leadership and communication abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
