Position Summary:
The Director of Total Rewards leads the strategy, design, and administration of compensation and benefits programs that attract, retain, and engage a diverse healthcare workforce. This role partners closely with executive and HR leadership to ensure total rewards programs are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals and financial stewardship.
The Director oversees compensation structures, annual pay programs, and benefit offerings, using data, market insights, and analytics to address workforce challenges and support recruitment and retention-particularly for clinical and hard-to-fill roles. This position leads and develops a high-performing team, manages vendor relationships, and drives continuous improvement and innovation in total rewards to enhance the employee experience and support high-quality patient care.
Position Qualification:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Masters degree preferred • 8+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, and/or benefits, with leadership experience • Demonstrated expertise in compensation design, job architecture, market pricing, incentive programs, and benefits strategy • Experience supporting a large, complex organization-preferably healthcare, academic medicine, or a similarly regulated environment • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits compliance • Proven ability to use data, analytics, and market insights to inform decision-making and address workforce challenges • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and managing external vendors and consultants • Excellent collaboration, communication, and executive partnership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred (or other relevant professional certification)
