About The Little Gym

The Little Gym began 50 years ago as a place where children could learn and grow through movement, fun, and imagination. Over time, it’s grown into a global community built on our unique Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy—Get Moving, Brain Boost, and Citizen Kid—helping children ages 4 months to 12 years build the confidence, skills, and life-readiness for life’s biggest adventures.

About the Role

As Program Director, you'll do more than lead classes—you'll shape the experience of hundreds of children and families each week while developing the next generation of coaches and leaders. If you love mentoring others, creating unforgettable customer experiences, and making a lasting impact on your community, this role offers a meaningful career with clear pathways for growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Teaching:
    • Teach amazing, high-energy classes using our proven curriculum and method (don’t worry, we’ll train you!). It’s your biggest priority, so you have to love it.
    • Set the standard - you don’t just teach, you model what “best” looks like for the rest of the team.
    • Keep growing your own skills and understanding of the program and child development.
  • Leadership:
    • Be the face of your gym, leading with enthusiasm, care, and ownership.
    • Inspire, coach, and develop a team of instructors into confident, engaging educators who create magical experiences every day.
    • Create a fun, professional, growth-minded culture that encourages your team to strive for excellence.
    • Communicate often with your team and district manager (Slack, email, and in person), and share wins and ideas in weekly leadership meetings.
  • Sales and Operations:
    • Drive monthly enrollment and retention through strong relationships, service, and an understanding of key business metrics.
    • Connect with families on their first visit and convert them into raving fans and members.
    • Create a clean, safe, organized gym that delivers an exceptional family experience.
    • Build schedules that balance team needs, staffing, and labor goals.

What Success Looks Like in Your First Year

You'll know you're succeeding when:

  • Your classes consistently earn outstanding parent feedback.
  • Your instructor team continues advancing through certification levels.
  • Enrollment and retention are growing.
  • Families know your name.
  • Your gym is known for delivering exceptional experiences every day.
  • Your team loves coming to work.

You’d Fit in at The Little Gym if…

  • You love high-fives, laughter, and seeing kids light up when they learn something new.
  • You live to serve, and kids adore you, parents trust you, and your team looks up to you.
  • You love to have fun, but know when to buckle down and get to work.
  • You have a growth mindset—every instructor and every class can always get a little better.
  • You have a background in child development, physical education, leadership or gymnastics is strongly recommended but not required.
  • This role is a five-day work week, including one weekend day, and may flex to meet the needs of the gym.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with future bonus opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Long-term disability and 401(k)
  • Paid time off, sick time, and company holidays
  • Ongoing training and leadership development
  • Opportunities for career growth within Somersault
  • Employee discounts and a seriously fun work environment
