Qualifications and Experience
At least five years of recent, substantive experience in business management, professional selling, sales management, fundraising, and/or sales training along with an advanced degree in a business- or marketing-related area are required. College-level teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as Director of the Center for Sales and Service Excellence (CSSE) and will be responsible for the development and leadership of the Center and its interactions with key stakeholders, including student participants, industry partners, affiliate scholars, the School of Marketing and International Business, sales centers at other universities, and donors. In addition, the candidate will teach twelve credit hours of undergraduate courses in marketing and/or sales per academic year. The typical teaching load for Professors of Professional Practice is 21 credit hours per academic year; however, this position includes a three-course annual teaching release to support the administrative responsibilities associated with directing the Center.
Service responsibilities for CSSE include (but are not limited to)
· Develop and maintain a CSSE Advisory Board
· Implement short-run fundraising for the CSSE
· Work with OSU Foundation for longer-term fundraising (e.g., large donation)
· Recruit new student participants to the Center
· Oversee content development for the CSSE website and social media
· Plan, organize, and implement CSSE events
· Coach and accompany students as they participate in sales competitions
· Develop and implement a rolling three-year strategic plan
· Establish metrics to define progress (e.g., number of students, fundraising)
· Benchmark the CSSE against peer centers and organizations
Technical Skills and Qualifications Desired
· Solid understanding of the professional selling process
· Well-versed on social media channels
· Exceptional organizational skills
