The Director of Testing is responsible for building and leading the organization's testing, validation, and qualification capabilities to ensure technologies are rigorously verified from development through commercialization. This role establishes the systems, teams, and infrastructure needed to generate high-quality technical evidence, reduce risk, and support product readiness and regulatory alignment.

Description

In this role you will report directly into Senior Leadership and will be responsible for:

  • Building and leading the company's testing organization, including structure, staffing plans, and capability development
  • Establishing testing strategies, validation frameworks, and qualification methodologies across all product lines
  • Developing and implementing test plans, procedures, standards, and governance processes
  • Leading execution of complex hardware testing programs, including system characterization, performance, and reliability testing
  • Coordinating cross-functional activities with engineering, program management, quality, and commercial teams
  • Developing testing infrastructure, including facilities, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition systems
  • Overseeing test data management, ensuring integrity, traceability, and accessibility of results
  • Supporting certification, regulatory, and customer requirements by generating defensible technical evidence
  • Driving continuous improvement in testing processes, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Building long-term testing capabilities to support future advanced technologies and systems

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • 12+ years of experience in testing, validation, qualification, or related technical leadership roles
  • Experience planning and executing complex hardware test programs
  • Strong understanding of engineering development and verification processes
  • Experience developing test plans, procedures, and instrumentation systems
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in energy, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex industries preferred
