ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY NOTICE

Director of Technology District

260-Day Contract

The Ravenna School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Technology. The Director of Technology is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating all district technology operations. This position provides leadership in the effective use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, and district operations.

DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY

General Description

The Director of Technology directs, supervises, and coordinates all district technology initiatives and operations. This position is responsible for providing students, staff, and administrators with opportunities to enhance teaching and learning through the effective use of technology.

Terms of Employment: Full-Time

Reports To: Superintendent

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio driver''s license.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor''s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, and/or State of Ohio Instructional Technology certification.
  • Teaching/training experience and technical writing/documentation skills are preferred.
  • Grant-writing experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Server technologies, Microsoft Office applications, Google for Education applications, and web publishing concepts. Thorough understanding of network, server, and workstation security principles and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking devices, network troubleshooting techniques, CAT6 cabling, and fiber installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of VMware virtual environments, including virtual servers and VDI desktops.
  • Working knowledge of Meraki wireless management systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewall devices.
  • Working knowledge of video distribution and display systems.
  • Working knowledge of POTS, PBX, and VoIP telephone systems, including maintenance and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of audio reinforcement and building audio systems.
  • Working knowledge of building security concepts, access control systems, and video security systems.
  • Knowledge of classroom instructional technology and technology integration strategies.
  • Thorough understanding of educational technology purchasing practices and funding sources.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students and staff.
  • Evidence of good health, high moral character, ethical conduct, and dependable attendance.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises all technology staff.
  • Collaborates with teachers and administrators to support student learning.
  • Serves as a technology resource for students and staff.
  • Develops and maintains district technology procedures and assists with enforcement of related policies and regulations.
  • Oversees technology-related construction projects and manages district LAN, WAN, and network systems.
  • Maintains all technology-related agreements and security measures.
  • Ensures the integrity and security of the district network.
  • Assigns and manages student and staff email accounts.
  • Provides professional development related to instructional technology.
  • Collaborates with curriculum and technology committees to identify and implement technology solutions.
  • Coordinates repairs and maintenance of district technology equipment.
  • Participates in approved technology training and professional conferences.
  • Continuously evaluates district technology systems and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Organizes and completes assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Assists newly assigned staff with technology orientation and support.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems effectively.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and supports organizational change.
  • Writes technology grants and assists district personnel with grant opportunities.
  • Serves as a resource for district technology business operations.
  • Develops and manages the annual technology budget and long-range technology plan.
