Job Goal(s):

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the District Technology and Services will serve the assigned district(s) as the team leader for technical support of staff and service functions. They will: provide technical expertise where appropriate; coordinate efforts and supervise other local Technology Services staff; assist with prioritization and oversight of technology work orders; manage technology-related projects; and facilitate resolution of other technology issues for the district(s). This individual should maintain a high standard of customer service philosophy and responsiveness to technology needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Five (5) or more years' experience and/or industry certifications may be used in lieu of a degree.

Two years minimum of recent and relevant, progressively more responsible experience managing, maintaining and providing technology solutions preferred.

Work Experience:

Previous experience/understanding of current Windows and Google OS, electronic media technology, mobile device management, device imaging, firewall/router/switch protocols and configuration, video conferencing solutions and web protocols is preferred.

Skills:

  • Require demonstrated knowledge in managing operating systems, network connections, enterprise technology environments, etc.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to relate well to persons at all levels of technical competency
  • Possess demonstrated leadership skills

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as team member/leader for technical support staff for the NHCS districts as assigned.
  • Oversee day-to-day technology operations for the district.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of enterprise computing - including but not limited to: networks; servers; virtualization; backups/restores; storage systems; applications; databases; integrations; etc.
  • Monitor work orders/tickets, assign/reassign/escalate tickets as needed to meet optimal service levels and resolve as needed.
  • Facilitate the resolution of tickets as needed by providing consultation to technical staff and users, providing technical expertise, coordinating resources for resolution and escalation, etc.
  • Maintain a base knowledge and understanding of the technologies in use in public schools, and needed for the operation of schools, including but not limited to end user computing devices, networks, databases, data, applications, etc.
  • Oversee the budgeting process, technology assessment and purchasing, invoicing and purchase orders, E-rate and other related activities as needed.
  • Provide project management of technology projects as needed, including but not limited to; creating project plans and charters, obtaining cooperation/input/buy-in from stakeholders, resource allocation, progress monitoring, risk management, project completion and review.
  • Document district systems, processes, procedures, and technology inventory.
  • Evaluate and document district technology standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations as to their use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the NHCS Superintendent.
  • Regular and reliable, in person attendance.
  • Valid driver license required.
  • Must pass state and federal background check

Job Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in IT
  • Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems
  • Experience with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 environments
